I will be spending 6 weeks in Europe at the end of the year and I've been looking around for travel insurance that would possible cover my UC & PSC. Just a precautionary measure as I've only recently been diagnosed with PSC and my UC has been under control for a long period.
Most travel insurance companies that I've come across wont cover my two disorders. Has anyone found any that does? I live in Australia by the way.
Hi we had a similar issue and when further questioned the Insurance company we were able to have travel insurance cover any hospitalisation or emergency treatment of Psc just not ordinary management of Psc eg routine blood tests etc but I had to escalate the query to a supervisor to get a clear answer.
This is an excellent company I have used for many years now. Hope this helps.

Read the policy very carefully. It may state that there can be no change in meds or dosages within 3 mths prior to the booking date. I had read through the policy, thought it was 3 mths prior to departure date - wrong!! - and my Imuran dose had been lowered. Cholangitis attack day before departure (never fails), had to cancel trip. Claim was denied. This was air miles but lost the taxes, surcharges etc and all the air miles.
