We just bought a house and I want to obtain some life insurance to cover the mortage.
Has anyone with PCS successfully purchased a policy? If so, which company?
Thanks so much!

You may be better off talking to the banker about having the loan paid off if you should “lose the fight.” Mortgage bankers in the past have been able to do this.
Enjoy your new home!

No. Unless you can get a job with the federal government and take advantage of their initial opportunities to get long term care and life insurance you will not be able to get any. And I believe there was some reason I could not continue with the life insurance. But I was able to get a LTC policy.
Peter: Thanks for posting! My fiancé and I were looking for life insurance too. We went to our insurer that holds our home and cars, we have Farmers; they were unable to insure him. Our agent tried hard to find some loop hole for him, however ultimately the health assessment team made the final call. We were very discouraged by the news and the letter that points out exactly why my fiancé was denied. Seeing lines like, ‘incurable liver disease’ reminded my love of how his conditions sometimes runs his life, so we stopped our search for now until he is ready to confront the issue again. Please share of any news you find. Good luck.
good question!
Another thing to think about when buying a home in today's market is to get an assumable loan. It is a big sale for someone buying your home in the future when interest rates are higher.
First Post, just got a PSC diagnosis yesterday, still dealing with all the implications.
As a single guy who would ultimately like to have a family this life insurance question was weighing heavily on me last night here in the hospital.
This AM I called up Zander Insurance, a broker heavily reccomended by Dave Ramsey, and they told me that a year after diagnosis that I could be eligible for some decent rates on a term policy provided my health was still good.
I don’t know if that helps anyone in this thread but it was a large weight off my shoulders. Time to get off this single guy diet I’ve been subsisting on…
As an aside, if anyone feels they need some guidance with their finances I would strongly reccomend Dave Ramsey’s books, his Financial Peace University, and his daily radio show. Just do it…
You will have to get a job with the federal government. Then take advantage of their initial opportunities to get long term care and life insurance. You can use Dave Ramsey's books, his Financial Peace University, and his daily radio show. You can also talk to your banker and other agents to get a better idea.
Thanks everyone for the direction.
