Good morning,
I am reaching out for my 21 year old son who has UC and PSC. He also has severe acne that he tried to treat with various topical medications but with no noticeable improvement. He suffers a lot from this and I was wondering if someone had experienced skin issues and what was done to treat it.

Hello. I’m sorry to hear your son is dealing with severe acne. I don’t know if this will help him or not, but a young man I know had very very severe acne, he’s a little older than your son but had it at 21 as well. He started using Head and Shoulders dandruff shampoo. I’m not sure what strength he used, but I noticed they have a “Clinical Strength” variety. He not only washed his hair with it but put it on a wash cloth and washed his face and neck. Over time, it cleared right up. I think he still uses it today to keep it clear. I hope this is of some help.

Hi! I’m 28 now and had some problems with acne on my face, back and chest when I was first diagnosed and started treatment with ursodiol. My doctor suggested it could be from the new drug? Regardless of the cause, I was prescribed TactuPump which is a prescription strength topical medication and after a month of use, it would usually clear up. I would often stop using it and it would come back but now I haven’t used TactuPump in over a year and only rarely get some acne flare-ups on my back.
