Milk thistle aka silymarin

I recently purchased a book put out by the Mayo Clinic concerning alternative medicine. In the book, it gives milk thistle a “green light” for aid with chronic liver disease particularly cirrhosis. Does anyone know of any studies or trials for milk thistle for PSC?

Hello Matt, I'm not sure of the studies but my doctor just recommended that I start to take it. He said that it helps with healthy liver functions. Ill let you know how I do on it.

Is milk thistle working for you, to lower symptoms and improve liver function?

I am not familiar with the studies done on milk thistle, but I have been taking it since I was dxed in 1991. Something is working for me and milk thistle is cheap enough that I keep taking it. :wink:
