MELD Score Jump!

Hello Folks,

Well I have some good/bad type news today I wanted to share with the group. I went for my transplant MELD labs yesterday at Duke. I have been holding at a MELD of 19 for several months now. Well, my transplant coordinator called today and my MELD has jumped to 33! I am now at the top of the list at Duke in my blood group. I could get a call anytime now. Please keep me in your prayers this week as we are hopeful in this matter. They had me re-run my INR again today to double-check the high reading. Still haven't heard back on that, but for the next 7 days at least I am at a MELD 33. Of course although this puts me at the top of the transplant list, it also shows my health is deteriorating rapidly as well. I'll post more when I hear back. Maybe this will be the week.

On a side note, I had been having some severe stomach related problems recently and my coordinator said that may have artificially drove my numbers up. Well, if that is what it takes to get a new liver as a patient with PSC, well I'm thankful for that as well.

Thanks all for your support!

Mark Wilson

I hope it all works out the way it should! Good luck:)

That's quite a jump in MELD! Thinking of you and hoping things will be fast-tracked now.

Holy cow. That is a nasty jump.

I hope you get good news soon, and am glad your stomach is doing what it can to help the liver!

Good luck, Mark.

Jeff

Thinking of you, Mark, and hoping that all works out for the best.

Best of luck - you'll be in my thoughts and prayers!

Hey fcm, best of luck on your procedure, hope to hear from you again very soon with excellent news. It's always a mood jump to hear a fellow PSCer have a successful transplant. It gives me hope for myself if and when its my turn.

You're in my thoughts. All the best!

Thanks everyone for your posts. Check out my new post from today. I got my transplant this week!!!
