High blood pressure

Hi everyone was just wondering if there is any connection between high bp and psc, I had a 24 hour bp monitor yesterday and 100% of my top figures were over 220 and 100% of the bottom figures were over 130. I haven’t seen anything about high bp but thought I would ask.

Good morning,
I haven’t come across anything.
My sons BP runs really low. The
Only time his elevates is if & when
He experiences pain.
I hope they figure it for you.
Sending healing thoughts your way.

Mine runs in the normal range, however when I was in horrible pain following an ERCP it went up to 200 / 90....pancreatitis was suspected and with the high BP I was hospitalized. It came down slowly the next 2 days as the pain subsided. In retrospect the high BP was believed to be effects the procedure had on me.

Thanks my buddy and fly lady, I haven’t been in much pain recently, that’s why I was surprised it turned out to be so high consistently over 24 hours, I have been having a lot of nosebleeds and bad headaches with it so it’s probably just a separate issue, thanks for replying.

Hi Meercat,

I know it has been a couple days since you posted. I’m very worried about you. A blood pressure this high, especially if it lasts for more than one reading is called a hypertensive crisis. See this attachment from the American Heart Association.

“If, while monitoring your blood pressure, you get a systolic reading of 180 mm Hg or higher OR a diastolic reading of 110 mm HG or higher, wait a couple of minutes and take it again. If the reading is still at or above that level, you should seek immediate emergency medical treatment for a hypertensive crisis. If you can’t access the emergency medical services (EMS), have someone drive you to the hospital right away.” http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/Conditions/HighBloodPressure/AboutHighBloodPressure/Understanding-Blood-Pressure-Readings_UCM_301764_Article.jsp

Your nosebleeds and headache are probably caused by this extraordinarily high blood pressure.
I hope you got help already and if not I would encourage you to go to the hospital if it is still this high. If it came down already you should definitely tell your doctor about it anyways. Perhaps bring a copy of your recording so he or she can see them.

My thoughts are with you! Please let us know how you are doing.

I don’t mean to scare you, only to emphasize the seriousness of this situation. The enormous blood pressure that is causing your nose bleeds is also putting pressure on every other blood vessel in your body. This is also true of the blood vessels in your brain (probably why you have headaches). Just like the blood vessels in your nose are bleeding, so can the blood vessels in your brain causing a stroke or aneurysm. It is super super important that you get to the doctor and get treatment for this problem immediately.

Hopefully you already went to the doctor and heard all this already!!! I’m only 7 days too late.

Hi leggyMeggie, My dr started me on tablets for high bp and I’m going back to Dr in the morning for a whole range of blood tests and also bp check to see if it’s come down any. At the minute still having nose bleeds and headaches, but hopefully they will stop soon. Thanks for your reply and will let you know how I get on .

Hi LeggyMeggy sorry it’s taken me so long to let you know how I was getting on, my bp is down to 160/100 and nose bleeds have stopped, though headaches continue. I Was sort of stunned last week when my consultant said it was time for assessing for transplant, which is why it’s taken me so long to do this, thanks for your advice and concern x

Hi Stephen, when I seen consultant just before Xmas, he had said, if I had another episode of choalingitis where I ended up in hospital he would assess me for liver transplant, as I’d had so many this year… It just came as a bit of a shock as I thought any mention of a transplant would be many years ahead,
