Severe pain lower abdomen

Hi guys I’m scheduled for my endoscopy ultrasound tomorow May be followed by ERCP depending on findings. Since yesterday I have been having a severe intestinal pain like I’m having painful bowel movement but I don’t . Anyone else has experienced this?

Sami,
I’m sorry but I can’t say I’ve had that specific issue although did have a lot of bowel problems with PSC due to sudden dumps of bile and then the lack thereof. I hope the Endo Ultrasound goes well. Glad they are willing to do the ERCP at the same time if needed. I’d encourage you to ask the doctor to avoid using stents unless absolutely necessary as they are prone to causing bad infections. If they can do the balloon dilation, etc. that will be so much better.

Just an update with my lower and upper abdominal pain just in case anyone here experiences this . I was admitted to hospital on Thursday fever 105 and white blood cells 19000 . Ended up having my 4th CT scan which I was trying to avoid . Diagnosis is severe colitis. My liver enzymes and GGT are normal and have been on Iv fluids and IV antibiotics since then . They did endoscopy Only and not ERCP which is very disappointing why they didn’t do it to diagnose me correctly . I’m trying to fight off this infection and get colonoscopy and ERCP. Anyone has any suggestions or advices?

Sami,
Glad they are getting that infection under control. I believe the doctors made the right decision. With you having an active infection they didn’t need to risk getting that up into your biliary and pancreatic tract. Hopefully once that is under control you can get your ERCP. I would specifically ask for a hepatologist if one is not attending you now and ask him for the procedure if you feel that’s the right decision to make. Colonoscopy is standard protocol when they diagnose for PSC. Take care and I hope you are better soon
