First Congratulations !!! May best advise to you is to eat clean !! I am 7 yrs post transplant and unfortunatly the PSC returned in my new liver about 6 months post transplant . I read the healthy liver and bowel book . And now eat a diet with no processed foods and also take a liver tonic every day along with a new health suplement called Asea , ( which we get from the USA . So my advise would be eat a clean healthy diet lots of veg . And grass fed meat . Animals were not ment to eat grain , they need a natural diet to produce good meat for us to eat .
Sorry to hear Psc returned. Mine did too. Definitely got 2 happy years out of it. How are now? Does the diet work or are you gradually worsening? My progression has been very rapid. I myself find a pretty basic diet as sassy said is digested best. I also use natural meat and veggies and fruits for fiber. And small meals several times a day. I can't finish a restaurant meal.

I have come across a health supplement that I take as well as my Liver Tone Plus . Have been taking them both for about five months now . Got my liver function tested when I started , and again after three months , AND my liver function HAS improved !!!!!!!! The supplement is made in America so we have to get it shipped over the pond for me , and it's not cheap. But am hoping that this means that I will not have to go back on the list again. Will let you know what my next lot of LFT's are like. ( They get checked every 3 mths.)
Just wondering if this supplement helps with the PSC itching...I just started taking a probiotic 5 days ago and still am itching....Don't think it's going to help much....Good luck on your LFT's....
I have had a lot less itching since I started these . I believe most of this problem is caused by a deficiency of Glutathione. Glutathione is the major antioxidant of the body, which the body produces itself. Both Livertone and asea help boost glutathione. As well as boosting glutathione asea also helps your body recover and regenerate itself at the cellular level. Check out www.amazingmolecules.net.
Thank you Sassy...I will definitely check into this... Sorry to hear PSC returned so soon after your transplant...Do you think the reoccurence might be from not taking enough immunosuppressants...I know after they eliminated the cellcept about a month later I started feeling very fatigued and drowsi, not realizing it was one of the symptoms from PSC...This occurred approximately 10 months after transplant...Again I really appreciate you sharing this information and I hope this helps you stay normal for as long as possible.
Was told that there is a high risk of the PSC returning , I was just unlucky . The Lymphoma ,they said was caused by the immunosuppressants !! But am after chemo and alot of dietary changes hopefull that both will never cause me any more trouble .
So sorry you have had to endure so much. Having PSC is overwhelming enough without adding to it. But I sincerely hope that you have concurred both. Thanks again for sharing your information.
Am doing well so far . Have to admit that I wouldn't be in such good shape without my hubby !!! The thing that I think has really made the difference is a clean diet , and they didn't tell me anything about what I SHOULD eat post transplant . Only to avoid things like soft cheeses , pate and uncooked meats or fish . But it was fine to eat KFC or McDonalds or suppermarket pre cooked processed crap ! Which they should be telling us all to avoid !!
