New Favorite Tennis Player

Is she a member of this site? She could be an inspiration.

Always encouraging! Thank you!

I am a pretty big tennis fan (and local player). And I know of Elena Baltacha and her career. While I didn't know anything of her health of PSC diagnosis, I know that she has built a very successful tennis career on the professional WTA tour. The fact that she has achieved such success at the very top level of professional tennis while simultaneously navigating her way through a PSC diagnosis is a remarkable story.

I will reach out to her and try to make a connection -- and will alert her to this site and its resources.

great. i'd be curious to hear how a high level athlete manages the disease. obviously in more detail than what was in the article.

I agree, Bubba! We need another top athlete with PSC - woman this time - to add to our list of high-ranking, top-performing athletes like Chris Klug, Olympian snowboarder. Awesome! I'm walking now - an hour a day as many days a week as I can pull off and at a quick pace. By the time the Bolder Boulder 2013 rolls around on Memorial Day, I want to be able to walk AND run that 10k. I just feel so much better being able to do that. It makes everything in my life better. I may not be a champion athlete, but what Elena is doing is very inspiring and motivating. PSC-diagnosed 2-1-06; breast cancer-Fall 2011.

That’s awesome Danabee!

If you could make that happen Pete, that would so cool! Good luck!

I agree, Pete. Go for it! Would love to see Elena just say hello to us all and know that we are supporting her.

thanks Bubba!

I sent Elena a friendly message and invitation. Now "the ball is in her court" (to use a tennis metaphor). I hope that she will choose to take advantage of the resources of this site, and add her insights and experience to the collective wisdom here.
