I’m taking1000mg of urso a day and it helps to normalise my liver function tests and gives me quality of life. I have zero side effects. Without urso my ALP increases to about 2.5 times normal and I experience breathlessness. Research says that it doesn’t treat the problem. However, getting those blood tests normalised feels good and I’ve read that there is some evidence that if the ALP is 1.5 times normal or lower then its longer to the endpoint.

I have been taking it for many years, pre and post TX. 3 times a day, and now 1 a day post. Never noticed any effect. My Doc said it’s like mother’s milk for the liver. Coming up on my 20th aniversary of 2nd TX.

My daughter was diagnosed with PSC at age 7, and she’s now 14. She has been prescribed Urso the entire time, and it was meant for pruritus. She’s never itchy.
